In this brand new video, Creative Director and Signature Designer Tim Holtz de-mistifies any thoughts you might have about our NEW Perfect Pearls Mists!
Guess what...we've added the Perfect Pearls Mists Color Charts to our website. Print them out, spray the mists onto a 1-1/2" x 1-1/2" square of black cardstock and glue them to the chart for easy reference.

We announced their creation right before the CHA Summer 2010 show, and now the Perfect Pearls Mists are one step closer to being available on the shelves of your local craft shop. When Ranger Creative Director Tim Holtz made his HSN debut this past Wednesday, he was on the air twice: once at 10am, and then again at 4pm. Here's a recap of his second hour!
Tim was welcomed by host Bobbi Ray Carter and he showed her the "Inspiration Kit," comprised of Tim's book A Compendium of Curiosities and sheets of Grungeboard Mixed Minis.

Tim flipped through the book and pointed out that he took every photograph himself as he was crafting -- all the better to show a crafter following along exactly what they want to see!
The second hour featured a lot of products that weren't shown during the first hour, including three collections of Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers! They were available in Lights, Brights, and Basics (metallics plus black and white), with each kit containing 6 dabbers.
Tim demonstrated how to establish flow through the foam dabber top...
...and how to quickly cover large areas with no paintbrush necessary!
He also demonstrated a "pouncing" technique for a slightly heavier application of paint...
...which became textural when dried with the Heat-It Craft Tool!
Tim also showed off how easy it is to use Adirondack Acrylic Paint Dabbers to layer colors, and yet the dabber top does not become contaminated with the other color of paint! Just swipe the dabber on a scrap piece of paper or on the Non-Stick Craft Mat to quickly re-establish the flow of the original true color. How great is that?

Next up was everyone's favorite glitter glue: Stickles!
Stickles were offered in three collections: All-Occasion (pictured), Holiday (reds and greens for Christmas plus oranges and purples for Halloween), and Metallics.
Tim showed off some holiday scrapbook layouts that used Stickles as festive accents on Grungeboard letters.
Even some Halloween tags got some bling thanks to Stickles!
Look how easy it is to apply Stickles to Grungeboard accents. It's so much easier than applying regular glue and sprinkling with loose glitter (and not nearly as messy, either)!
Tim also demonstrated how Stickles self-levels. Even if a slight peak is left after application straight from the bottle, the formula will dry into a smooth dome. Perfect!
Next up was a Stamping Starter Set: a bottle of CleansIt stamp cleaner...
...a package of Cut 'n' Dry stamp pad foam, a Rub It Scrub It stamp cleaning pad,...
...and even a pad of Jet Black Archival Ink! With this handy kit, beginning stampers would have everything they need to get started on a new addiction.
The final item of Tim's HSN debut were several sets of his stamps created with Stampers Anonymous. Here, Tim was demonstrating how clear stamps on acrylic blocks allow for perfect placement on your layout.

Ranger Creative Director Tim Holtz made his debut on HSN yesterday as part of their first-ever 24-hour Craft Day. He did a great job, as evidenced by our Twitter and Facebook fans' claims of maxed-out credit cards during his first hour-long spot ;-) Here's a recap of the first hour!
HSN hostess Kathy Wolf gives Tim a warm welcome, and immediately they launch into the first product kit: an Inkssentials starter kit comprised of our Non-Stick Craft Sheet, Ink Blending Tool, replacement Ink Blending Foam, and the Mini Mister.
Tim teaches Kathy how to use the Ink Blending Foam and Craft Sheet (along with Distress Ink) to create lovely blended edges.
Tim then showed how the Mini Mister can be used with any reinker to create spray inks.
And speaking of Distress Inks! They were offered in 3 different sets (lights, brights, and deep tones) of 6 pads each. Tim showed off some amazing tags he crafted using Distress.
He then filled a Mini Mister with water and some Perfect Pearls powder and sprayed it on top of a tag colored with Distress Ink...
...to demonstrate how Distress Ink reacts with water and becomes more intense in color.
And of course, Distress can be used like watercolor paint to create amazing effects!
After these different techniques were demo'ed, Distress sold out pretty quickly... no surprise there!!
Next up was Tim's Idea-ology Tool Kit which contained his Design Ruler, Sanding Grip, Sanding Grip refills, Tiny Attacher, and Tiny Attacher refills.
Kathy learns how to use the Tiny Attacher.
And Tim demonstrates how easy it is to replace the paper in the Sanding Grip.
Next up was the "HSN Showstopper" -- Tim's book A Compendium of Curiosities paired with Grungeboard Mixed Minis!
Tim shows some samples made with techniques shown in his book, and accented with Grungeboard Mixed Minis.
This mirror was created using Fragments -- too cool!
Next up: Distress Crackle Paint!
Tim created some Halloween samples using Distress Crackle Paint....
...and showed off the color palette kits that were available...
...and had just enough time to show how to apply the paint using the built-in brush...
...before Distress Crackle Paint sold out!
The final item of the show was an incredible kit containing a Grungebook, Journaling Tickets, and many metal embellishments from the Idea-ology line.

Big news: Ranger's Creative Director Tim Holtz will be making his HSN debut tomorrow!! You can watch Tim demo Ranger products live on HSN on Tuesday, September 14, at 10am EST and again at 4pm EST. It's HSN's first-ever 24-hour Craft Day, and we at Ranger are so pleased that Tim will be a big part of it!
For our international friends and for those who won't have access to a TV at those times, you can also watch a live feed of the show on HSN's website, although sadly their player is not compatible with Apple computers.

Today we’ll be shining a spotlight on Ranger’s Inkssentials
Watermark Resist Ink pad, a product that maybe doesn’t always get the attention
it deserves, but is truly awesome nonetheless! We’ve recently received some inquiries regarding techniques for using Watermark Resist, so we thought this would be a fun opportunity to show off all the great things that can be done with this clever little ink pad!
In this video, Ranger’s Marketing Coordinator Patti Behan demonstrates
how you can use Watermark Resist to create many different and interesting
effects. It can be used as a resist ink on gloss paper, or use it to create a watermarked image on dark colored papers. Did you know that Watermark Resist is an excellent ink for embossing as well? You can even use Watermark Resist to make incredibly beautiful multi-colored backgrounds for all your card-making and scrapbooking needs!
Artist and Ranger Signature Designer Claudine Hellmuth has her own unique take on the possibilities available with the Watermark Resist pad, too! In this video from the CHA Winter 2009 show, Claudine demonstrates a great technique using Watermark Resist in conjunction with her Studio Sticky-Back Canvas and Studio Paints.
And in this video from CHA Summer 2009, Claudine takes her
technique to the next level by fashioning a gorgeous necklace from the resist image! Too clever or what?
If you’re just dying to get your hands inky, Lisa Dixon has created two project tutorials featuring beautiful cards with sweet sentiments, both of which employ techniques using the Inkssentials Watermark Resist Pad!
