Ranger's Halloween Costume Contest!

Happy Halloween, everyone!!

We here at Ranger Industries are getting into the Halloween spirit with our annual Halloween party and costume contest.  We are awarding our staff prizes for the Funniest Costume, Cutest Costume, and Most Creative Costume, but this year we are also adding a brand-new category: Bloggers' Choice!

That's right, we would like YOU, our blog followers, to vote for your favorite Ranger employee Halloween costume!  We will choose a vote at random and the author will receive a prize pack from Ranger, so be sure to get your vote in!  We will be closing the voting at midnight EST tonight.

Project: Shrink Plastic & UTEE Fabric Tag

 

Today we've got a great new project from you courtesy of Tammy Tutterow!  Use Inkssentials Surfaces Shrink Plastic along with Melt Art UTEE, the Ranger Melting Pot, and Distress Inks and Stains to create this charm-ing fabric tag!

New Technique: Alcohol Ink Glassine

 

Ranger's Senior Educator Wendy Vecchi has yet another awesome technique to share with you!  Watch this video that shows you how she alters Tim Holtz' Kraft Glassine using Adirondack Alcohol Inks and Snow Cap Mixative to achieve a rustic patina effect.

More Ranger Craft Night Projects

We have some more BOO-tiful Ranger Craft Night projects to give you ideas for Halloween cardmaking!

Eek Card by Cindy Rescorl:   Cindy used an Ink Blending Tool  to apply Fall Seasonal Distress Ink colors in the background, embossed the image using a Tim Holtz Texture Fade, then swiped Jet Black Archival Ink over the embossed image.

 

Poison 31 Card by Cindy Rescorl:  A cool technique to try!  Start with a piece of Kraft Glassine and brush on Perfect Pearls Pigment Powders until fully covered. Use a Heat It Tool to melt the pearls into the glassine. Let cool. Put the glassine piece into a texture fade to emboss.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

Haunted Card by Susan Baldwin:  Spray Die Cuts with Perfect Pearls Mists and use Picket Fence Distress Stains to color the candles, then Stickles for the flames and spider eyes. "Haunted" was stamped with Distress Embossing Ink and heat embossed with Vintage Photo Distress Powder.

Ranger Craft Night: Projects Revealed!

 
A few weeks ago we blogged some behind-the-scenes shots from our autumn Ranger Craft Night.  Now we'd like to share some of the projects that were created by our staff!

From left to right:

Skeleton Kraft Tag by Debbie Tlach.  Debbie dabbed some Picket Fence Distress Stain onto a Non-Stick Craft Sheet and then used an Inkssentials Cut N' Dry Nib to color in the skeleton and highlight the bat.

Boo Ornament by Terry Horvath.  Terry adhered Tim Holtz idea-ology stickers to a piece of cardstock, then sandwiched the cardstock between two pieces of 2x2 Memory Glass, and inserted into a Memory Frame. You can make a bunch of these using different sizes of Memory Frames and Glass, then display them on a Mini Halloween Tree to make a spooktacular home decor piece!

Spooky 31 Tag by Terry Horvath. Terry used the Inkssentials Ink Blending Tool and the Fall Seasonal Distress Inks (which are shipping NOW, woo hoo!) to create a background on an Inkssentials Surfaces Manila Tag.  She then stamped over the inked background using a Tim Holtz stamp and Jet Black Archival Ink.
